Seizures and Neurofeedback
“In 1968, in the journal Physiology and Behavior, M. Barry Sterman, a psychologist at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine published the results of his experiments training cats to control their own brainwaves. Later, in 1972 Sterman published the first scientific paper about using brainwave feedback to suppress seizures in a twenty-three year old woman. These early studies at Sterman’s laboratories demonstrated that brain activity can be modified with behavioral methods.” p.3. From Biofeedback for the Brain by Paul G.
